RELATIONSHIP CAPITAL
A measurement assigned to individual and
organizational entities based on the relationship interactions between
them, and the interactions they have internally.
EARLY ADOPTERS
Companies that are collaborating in RNIA to deliver the
products and services needed for widespread adoption of Relationship
Capital.
CBOK
The RNIA Common Body of Knowledge that serves as the basis
for Relationship Capital standards, and that enables certification. |
ABOUT RNIA
RNIA is the only not-for-profit trade association of leaders dedicated to
maximizing opportunity and value in the rapidly-evolving world of
relationship networking, which combines social and business, both on- and
off-line. We
offer neutral ground on which members can collaborate to provide
standards and enable certification.
WHAT WE OFFER
RNIA's
principal contribution is CBOK, a common body of knowledge that specifies
Relationship Capital ("RC").
CBOK
establishes RC as a simple yet powerful measurement of interactions
between entities, including people, business units, job positions,
products and assets.
RC is structured like a game. It's really
quite simple: Keep commitments and earn
RC; get people's positive perceptions and earn RC; build up connections and
financial position and get RC.
For
example, take Joe:
-
He
keeps a commitment and earns RC. He breaks a commitment and loses
RC.
-
He gets a
positive perception from someone he knows and earns RC.
-
He’s
connected to people with high RC, sells products with high RC and works
for a company with high RC, and they are a reflection on him. Plus, he
builds up his financial position, and that's a reflection on him also.
CBOK
takes the same approach in interactions between business units, job
positions, products and assets. Each of these entities gets RC the same
way. To learn more, see
RC Jargon Free.
RC is an indication of good behavior. The more
RC a person has, the greater the likelihood of a
rewarding career and personal life. The more RC a business or product has, the
greater its opportunities to make more money. CBOK reinforces good
behavior by providing on-the-spot learning to help users earn the
most RC in every interaction.
WHO WE ARE
RNIA was founded by Norman Myers, Chairman of the Board,
who envisioned the need for a seamlessly connected system to enable RC,
and has led its development. Our members represent a cross-section of
industries, including automotive, financial services and healthcare, as
well as major universities and companies in media and publishing, learning
systems, information technology and consulting.
Our members believe in RC. Not just as a
problem solver, but also as a way for people, businesses, job positions,
products and assets to show the world how great they really are.
HOW WE OPERATE
Except for areas involving administration,
RNIA's organization is flat. We take a bottom-up management approach by
placing our members first, encouraging them to contribute their best
ideas, and helping them collaborate to turn the ideas into deliverables.
Everyone at RNIA participates in one or more workgroups. Group leaders
facilitate their group's work by providing close guidance and support.
RNIA has two kinds of groups: CBOK and RC
Initiatives. CBOK Groups build and maintain RNIA's
Common Body of Knowledge. RC Initiatives Groups are a collaboration of
members from various industries planning a joint effort to take RC to market.
